Much like many historic places in Rome, the Santa Maria ad Martyres or “the Pantheon” is truly an architectural splendor. Countless buildings have been erected over the centuries, but many either no longer exist or are in a state of ruins. An amazing survivor, the Pantheon was built many centuries ago in the 2nd century A.D. It still remains today for thousands to admire in awe and it was a jaw dropping experience to be present for the purpose of capturing these pictures. Truth be told, the pictures below do no justice for the true wonder of this architectural masterpiece.
